Meet Our Volunteers

Where We Come From

Project Hope has hosted more than 1500 international volunteers since its inception in 2003, hailing from more than 30 different countries.

Meet some of our volunteers

Each of Project Hope’s International Volunteers teaches alongside a Palestinian Local Volunteer. Local Volunteers act as translators and often help internationals navigate the city.

After they’ve returned home, many of our internationals remain involved as Alumni Volunteers, organizing fundraisers and talks, and even serving as trustees on our international boards of directors.

International Volunteer

Meet Asra

Asra is a primary school teacher who speaks a billion languages and has lived all over the place. We talked with her about volunteer teaching with Project Hope in Spring 2011, what it was like to grow up a refugee herself, and what she sees for the future of Palestine.

Meet Salahuddin

Salahuddin teaches computer literacy, but don’t be fooled. He was Palestine’s 2009 Champion in K-1 kickboxing, and he teaches Thai boxing for many of our students and volunteers.
