The Office

The Project Hope building was designed by Adel Zuaiter, a famous Palestinian lawyer, translator and academic. His daughter, Naila, now owns the building, and lives in the third floor. The second floor houses the Project Hope rooms and offices, while the director’s office in on the Ground Floor.
Inside, the volunteer’s officer and activities coordinator work in the first room, which also houses two computers with printers. These can be used by volunteers to print materials for classes.
The main classroom is at the back of the building. Lessons are held here, and it also functions as a meeting and eating room on Wednesday evenings. On Mondays, the room is used for film showings.
The open area houses 6 computers. These are used by volunteers to prepare lessons, and are also used for the regular blog classes.
The English and French coordinators work across the corridor. There is also a photocopier here which can be used by volunteers.
The office is a lively yet focused space, where many different types of work are done, ideas are shared over tea, and laughter can always be heard.
