Salahuddin is a local Palestinian volunteer with Project Hope. He teaches computer literacy, but don’t be fooled. He was Palestine’s 2009 Champion in K-1 kickboxing, and teaches Thai boxing for many of our students and volunteers.

Dance Class

This spring, Norwegian volunteer Lykke taught two dance classes for girls aged 7 to 14. Each class consisted of 12 girls and met for two hours twice a week, providing the girls with regular physical activity, as well as a sense of community. “The after school activities for children in Palestine are so limited, especially for girls,” explained Lykke. “It’s a chance for them to be together, to create something together.”

Computer Lab/Net Café Opening

As part of its new two-story Education Center, Project Hope is proud to announce the opening of its new computer facilities. These include a computer lab for blogging and internet literacy classes, as well as a 10-computer net café, open to the Nablus public. Project Hope

Project Hope is a grassroots humanitarian NGO and a registered Canadian charity.

Project Hope works in the refugee camps, city centers, and villages of the Nablus region of the northern West Bank, teaching English and delivering other essential education, arts and sports programs to Palestinian children and youth.

The largest volunteer organization of its kind in Palestine, Project Hope also seeks to foster dialogue between local and international volunteers, and partners with volunteer alumni to raise the issue of Palestine internationally.

A Registered Charity

Project Hope's work is carried out through the Canadian charity “Humanitarian Opportunities for Peace and Education,” with field operations run by a Palestinian team in the West Bank.
